Political illustration created for "DEEP" (a Mexican fashion magazine) to satirize one of the realities that have been ocurring in Mexico City: Just as many Mexicans move to the USA or other countries, a lot of people from different states in Mexico move here to MC, in search of a better employment opportunity.
Nevertheless, during these last few years the opposite has happened: A lot of people from the city (known as "chilangos") now are moving toward the country, fleeing the terrible public insecurity and stress found here. The famous figure of Moses (from the Bible's Exodus) was the detail that best represented this "great outpour" of people. And as a comical element I used the "serapes" (Colorful Mexican blankets) as sea walls in order to integrate the two concepts. |
