Illustration created for "Cine Premiere" Magazine in Mexico in 2006, about the Mike Newell film: "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" based on the 4th book of the HP saga (and for me, one of the best HP adventures!), where we can see Harry in the Big Tournament, escaping from the Big Hungarian Horntail Dragon. It was one of the artworks I have been more satisfied with the final impression in a magazine.
Although I'm a christian with discernment and the eyes very open by the Word of God, I'm not as the sanctimonious or legalistic people who are frightened with the J.K.Rowling's books (I'm a huge fan of HP!) because I only see it as the concept that represents: Just a FAIRY TALE!
However, in OUR REAL WORLD, the man has the clear warning of God about never should practice the sorcery, the divination, the occultism or at least the esoterism, because all are real abomination to HIM. (Leviticus 19:31, 20:6-7. Deuteronomy 18:10-12. Micah 3:6-8, 5:11-13. Galatians 5:19-21). "...And nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." -Hebrews 4:13
Curious facts of this 4th movie:
-At least one full-scale dragon was constructed on set, which could even blow real fire. -The first task with the dragon took over 140 special effect shots. -The great british director Mike Newell ("Pushing Tin", "Four Weddings and a Funeral", "Donnie Brasco", "Mona Lisa Smile") only got USD1,000,000 for direct this movie! -The House Elves, Dobby and Winky, were cut from the film to make it shorter. However, if you watch carefully in the first campsite scene, right after Ginny points to something and says "Look!" you can see two House Elves riding on llamas. They go by very fast, so they're hard to see.
This is an awesome picture. The detial in your dragon is incredible, although I have to say it irks me how everyone makes Harry's hair brown Eh, guess it's not so easy to make it as dark as it is.
Wow very cool, your art is amazing and very dramatic. I really like your striking use of black.
The only thing I don't like about this image is the dragons right (her right) foot...it looks like the toes are just sprouting out of the body without a leg. other than that great stuff.
